Leadership is defined

In schools teachers know that many decisions they debate or discuss, the buck stops with the principal. Principals love reminding staff about this. And they are correct. It terms of law the principal, vested in an individual, is the accounting officer. The term leadership can be used as a verb (action) or an adjective (describing). This situation leads to collective disemporing and mediocraty.

I am of the opion that leaderSHIP refers to the collective act of leading. Like fiduciary responsibility vested in the Board of Directors, singularly and collectively, such should it be for the School Management Team. Derelict of duty and neglect then becomes a collective/siingular failure to govern or manage.

Education law speak of individuals holding a post – given our history and current jurisprudence is must also be interpreted as the action or non-action of the team as a collective...democratic principles emphasize both rights and duty/accountability/responsibility

School management teams operate as subject managers/leaders INSTEAD of curriculum managers/leaders.
